· How to Dress for Your Shape - Does this make me look fat? Decorator and fashion guru for the over 50 set, Ann Dowdy, will give fashion tips and examples. February 1, 9am. Learn your shape and dress to flatter it, $5.
· Cost Cutting Coupons- Lynne Bell will teach about different types of coupons. Explain policies for coupons. Websites for finding coupons. Using coupons effectively will save you money! February 15 10am, $5
· Scrapbooking- Get started scrapbooking with Joan Lott. Bring 2-3 photos to make a scrapbook page. Choose between a Heritage Page (grandparents) or a Baby Page. All supplies provided $10, February 22, 9am.
· Jewlery Design by Arlene- Chunky Winter Necklace: long necklace, easy to string, great with a turtleneck, February 14 & 21, 9:30,$25. All beads, tools and materials furnished for classes below. No close-up work involved.
· Intermediate Dulcimer- Pat Jex will teach a 4-week class, Tuesdays at 9am starting March 6. This class is for those who have finished the Beginner class and want more instruction before joining the Thursday morning practice group. Each student will need a dulcimer, music stand, and tuner. Upon request, these can be borrowed from RSVP during the 4-week class. Cost $20.
· Introduction to Tatting - LouAnn Poole will get you started tatting, a technique for handcrafting lace with a series of knots and loops which dates to the early 19th century. All supplies provided $15. March 8, 15 & 22at 10am.
· Book Club - 4th Tuesdayof the month at 1pm. February 28, “Island of Saints”, Andy Andrews; March 27, ‘Corduroy Mansion’, Alexander McCall Smith. This year’s selections have an international flavor. No charge. Each member is responsible for getting and reading the book selection. Come and join them! Angela Otts moderator.

· Genealogy Research - 4 sessions, Fridays form 9:30 - 11:30am, two classes offered. First class starting February 3, second class starting March 2; $20. Students will learn how to use the Ancestry.com on-line research site. The first part of each class will be instruction and the last part will be doing actual research. Students need to bring family information they want to research. A basic knowledge of genealogy is required.
· Photos from Camera to Computer: February 7, 9-11am, $5. Come learn how to take your digital photos from your camera, store them on the computer, be able to find them again, and then send them to a friend. When you register, you must know the make and model of your camera. Bring to class, your camera with pictures on it, any cables needed to transfer photos, or your memory card.
· How to Keep Your Computer Healthy: 2 Wednesdays, February 8 & 15, 9-11:30am, $10
· How to Use Windows 7: Intro Win 7 Class required or be familiar with other Microsoft operating system such as VISTA or XP, February 21 & 22, 9-11:30am, $10
· Libre Office, Open Source Docs - 2 Tuesdays, February 21 & 28, 1-3:30pm, $10. LibreOffice is a free word processing and database program that will work on Windows, Macintosh and GNU/Linux operating systems. It gives you six feature-rich applications for all your document production and data processing needs: Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math and Base.
· Word Intermediate: 3 Tuesdays, 6-8:30pm, starting March 6, $15. Intermediate course in Microsoft Word - Document creation, formatting, saving, and printing. Use of tables, labels and envelope printing. Homework will be assigned. Student must have access to a PC with Word to do homework assignments have completed the Beg Word course and bring a flash drive to class.
· Introduction to Power Point- 3 Wednesdays from 9 - 11:30a.m., starting March 7, $15. Learn to use Microsoft PowerPoint presentation graphics software to create effective presentations from the beginning to the end. Master the skills necessary to plan and develop presentations, including creating a presentation, editing text, reorganizing your slides to make them present more logically, adding multiple- level bulleted entries, and setting up to run a slide show.
· OCR & Scanning: 2 Wednesday, March 21 & 28, 1-3:30pm, $10.
· Organize Your Computer: 2 Thursdays, March 22 & 29, 1-3:30pm, $10
Day Trips:
· Dixie’s Tupperware Party- Theatre Matinee,February 11th, leave RSVP 11:30am, return 5pm. Begin your Tupperware party with lunch on your own at the Blue Plate Cafe in Huntsville, then on to Merrimack Hall (originally built in 1898 and expanded in 1920 by the Merrimack Manufacturing Company, a large textile manufacturer who had two large textile mills and a thriving mill village in Huntsville) to see the 2pm matinee.
The TODAY Show says, “not your grandmother’s Tupperware party”. This show contains adult themes and is recommended for mature audiences.
Cost $45.50, includes matinee and transportation.
· Chocolate Day at the Botanical Gardens, March 3rd, leaves RSVP 11:00am, return 5pm
Lunch on-you-own at Gibson’s Barbecue, started in 1956. Have your dessert at the Garden by joining the 2pm decadent sampling of treats in the Arbor. Enjoy luscious chocolate treats from vendors throughout the Valley. There will also be entertainment and a botany of chocolate display. After the tasting, 3pm tour the early spring gardens. Cost $30, includes garden admission, one-hour chocolate tasting and transportation.
