The Lakeside Post welcomes announcements from individuals running for political office with the following guidelines:

• Initial stories about candidacy will be published free. Additional stories on behalf of candidates, which do n will be considered paid political advertising.

• Stories are limited to a maximum of 600 words with a photo of the candidate to accompany stories.

•The Lakeside Post holds the right to edit all announcements.

• Stories will appear on the front and inside pages, depending on the political race.

• A staff writer will call candidates to obtain additional information that might be pertinent to readers.

• Announcements may be submitted by email (news@thelakesidepost.com), by fax (256-486-3143) or in person or mail (456 Gunter Ave., Guntersville, AL 35976.

• Each announcement must contain contact information (home and cell phone numbers, street address and/or email address).

• Deadline for state and county candidates' stories is Mar. 1. 13, 2012 at 5 p.m.

• Deadline for municipal candidates' stories is July 31, 2012 at 5 p.m.
