
Guntersville Police are investigating a string of auto break-ins that occurred over the course of the night Thursday.
A total of 7 auto burglary reports were filed. Other break-ins were reported but the victims chose not to file a report.
The area where the incidents occurred included Ringold Street, Hill Ave, Circle Drive, and Richardson Street.
Officers said that the offenses occurred at various times from 8pm on Thursday night through 6am on Friday morning.
Items stolen included electronics such as ipods, laptops, and cell phones. The thieves also took several check books from the victim’s cars.
Officers said that all the break-ins had one major factor in common – that each vehicle was left unlocked.
The Guntersville Police Department is encouraging citizens to lock their vehicle doors when left unattended and to not leave electronics and valuable items inside the vehicle were thieves could easlit see them.
