
Guntersville Police reported the following activity over this past weekend:
Friday 4/23/10 -- Police were called to a local retailer after a 52 year old Guntersville man entered the store and proceeded to shoplift an Alabama “Crimson Tide” hat and a pair of sunglasses. According to police, the man removed the tags from the hat and wore it while trying on several pairs of sunglasses. The man then removed the tag from the glasses he selected and clipped them on his shirt. He also removed a halogen replacement bulb from its package and concealed it in his pocket before he attempted to exit the store.
4/23/10 – 2000 block of Beard Street. A 47 year old woman reported that a man (26), whom had lived with her for the previous three weeks, had disappeared with some of her property. According to the woman, she left for work in the morning and when she returned around noon, the man was gone along with a Play Station 3, several PS-3 games, $75.00 in cash, and some prescription medication.
Saturday 4/24/10 – A 35 year old Albertville man was arrested for Driving Under the Influence after police responded to a 911 call about a vehicle traveling down the Hwy 227 mountain at a high rate of speed. Officers located the vehicle near Obrig Ave and Henry Street.
Monday 4/26/10 – Police arrested an 18 year old Arab man on charges of theft of property third degree. According to the report, the man entered a local retailer and attempted to steal a Superman Hat by removing the tags and wearing it out of the store without paying.
