For customers that are looking for a one of a kind lunch or dinner experience, then the Ichiban Japanese Steak House located on Highway 431 in Guntersville is the place to go.
Being the only Hibachi Grill of its kind in Marshall County, the doors have been swinging open with news customers since its doors first opened on August 5th.
The two section dining facility can seat guests at regular tables or up to 20 guests can sit around a preheated Hibachi Grill and have a trained chef cook their entree before them.
The Ichiban Steak House has four grill chefs who have been trained in culinary to cook with theatrical flair, such as lighting volcano-shaped raw onion hoops on fire to entertain guests.
Each meal is served after a warm bowl of Japanese Mushroom Soup and a house salad topped with Ginger Dressing.
More than 40 different types of Sushi Rolls, including squid, octopus, eel and crab can be hand-prepared for guests to have as appetizers or as a meal.
Ichiban has eight chefs in total who master the Sushi Bar, Grills and the kitchen dining.
"We change everyday," said Pony Lee, owner of Ichiban. "We don’t know what’s coming tomorrow. We are always thinking, working and planning."
Lee, who has been a Guntersville native for eight years, had previously owned a Chinese Restaurant in town before opening the doors of Ichiban.
Lee says he hopes his restaurant will bring people to the Guntersville area.
"I want to bring people from outside of the county to Guntersville," Lee said. "I want them to come try something different."
Lee believes his high volume of traffic is a good indication that the residents of Guntersville believe that different is good.
"We have been very busy," Lee smiles. "Everyday, very busy."
The Ichiban Japanese Steak House is located at 14401 Highway 431 in Guntersville.
