Clay Scofield, Republican nominee for Senate District 9, has announced the hiring of Albertville native, David Ferguson to manage his campaign.
Ferguson said, “It is an honor to return home to work for such an admirable candidate. I believe Mr. Scofield is a genuine, trustworthy, and knowledgeable candidate who will be a first-rate Senator in Montgomery.”
“Montgomery’s balance of power will rest in Senate District 9,” Ferguson continued, “The Democratic Party has been running the shop for 136 years and it is time voters put them out of business. Senate District 9 needs a successful businessman, like Clay Scofield, representing its interests, rather than a career politician, to tackle Alabama’s biggest issue: jobs and the economy.”
Mr. Scofield said, “I am thrilled David has agreed to join our team. His dedication to conservative principals, organizational ability, and business-minded approach will be a great addition to our team as we continue to grow our grassroots efforts.”
Ferguson is an Eagle Scout and a graduate of the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration at the University of Alabama. While in college, he served as an officer with the UA College Republicans, President of the Capstone Conservative Club, and as the national President of the American Conservative Student Union.
Most notably, during the 2010 Primary Election, he served as campaign manager for Dr. Robert Bentley, Alabama’s Republican nominee for Governor. He is also the principal of Ferguson & Associates.
